MIKE MAWHORTER, LEAD PASTOR
I have been Lead Pastor here at LBC since September 2003. Previously I was pastor in Markham, Ontario for 10 years and Prince George, BC for 12 years. I have been married to my wife Kathy for more than 30 years, and have four children: Joel (Rose), Erin (Mark), Jared (Katie), and Josh (Courtnay). I am also the proud grandfather of six kids: Faith, Paul, Sarah, Silas, Matthew and Lauren.

My personal mission statement is: To earn for the Lord a full return on his investment in me by being a growing disciple all my life who develops other growing disciples.

My KRAs (Key Result Areas) - To be a friend to those Jesus befriended and effectively help them become his friend too. I will use my hobbies to develop redemptive relationships. - To be a loving faithful husband to Kathy, encouraging and supporting her in her life's mission. - To be a loving father who models authentic faith, fiscal wisdom, and lifestyle evangelism. - To become an effective leader of leaders.

I graduated from Cedarville College in Business Administration, and Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary with a Masters of Religious Education. My favorite activities are reading, horseback riding, and bicycling. Kathy and I are also Puppy Raisers for the B.C. Guide Dog Services.

JAYSON OLDHAM, ASSOCIATE PASTOR
My wife Juli and I have been living in Ladner since 1998. It was the year we started here on staff at the church, and also the year we got married. We absolutely love this community, the people, our neighbors and our surroundings. It’s a great place to live and work. It’s also an awesome place to raise our two boys, Mikah and Lukas, and our daughter Janaya. Ladner Baptist Church has been gracious enough to allow me to have an amazing first full-time ministry experience.

I grew up in Ontario and moved out west to go to Bible College. During college (Northwest Baptist) I served in a few areas of student ministry such as Cloverdale Baptist, Grace Baptist in Hope, and Camp Qwanoes. My life mission is simply to love Jesus, and love others. If I can know God deeper each day, and allow him to shape my life, then I am just where I need to be! I desire to be the best husband to my wife, the best father to my children, and the best leader to those God has entrusted to me to lead. I have a long road ahead, but grace will get me there!

Things I love and love to do… watching my kids grow up, snowboarding, music (playing and listening), fishing, food, any sort of accidental exercise (sports and activities), art and photography, and woodworking.

DIANA CROSBY, CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
I am incredibly excited to be part of the Ladner Baptist family and to be serving in children’s ministry. Nothing in the world fulfills me as much as teaching kids to believe in, to love, and to serve the Lord Jesus. With a background in creative marketing, and several years in the business world, my lifelong dream has been to put my skills to use for God’s Kingdom.

I am married to Paul and together we have four children. Brad just graduated from Brock University in Ontario, Brynden is at University of Fraser Valley, Kevin is at UBC and Rebekah is also at University of Fraser Valley.  When it comes to “me time”, I enjoy movies, music, games with friends, walking, and watching NFL football. But none of these things gives me the same joy I have when I can do something with a bunch of kids! I have been involved in leadership of children’s ministries for 20 years and over the last 12 years I have spent time in various Bible camps, speaking and counseling.

My personal motto is "We cannot lead our children farther than we’ve gone ourselves." My philosophy on ministry is from 1 Corinthians 9 – "To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings."

JUDY LEAVER, ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR

After being in the US for the past three years, I am thrilled to be back here in Ladner, serving God at my home church.  My husband Eric and I, together with our two sons, Andrew and Timothy, came to Canada from Colombia in 1999 as new immigrants and were warmly welcomed into the LBC family.  We soon became involved in many aspects of church life here.  In 2007, Eric got a job in Springville, Utah, so we moved there, leaving behind our now adult sons.  While there, I was very blessed to find a job as Connections Director with CenterPoint Church.  I believe that God used that time to prepare me for coming back to join the LBC staff.  It’s been exciting to see old friends again and to become acquainted with lots of soon-to-be friends!  My life verse is Colossians 3:23.  “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men..

In our spare time, Eric and I like hanging out with friends, going for walks, watching movies together, and especially spending as much time as we can with our sons.

TERRY MATHIESON CUSTODIAN
I completed 44 years in the business world in 2002. I was fortunate to enjoy working in the sales and management field, and completed my career with 37 years in the same company. Several years of retirement was certainly a different lifestyle! I was happy to find a part-time job with the church. Although the work is entirely different from my career, it is interesting and helps keep my mind and body exercised. I was not happy trying to do exercise like running, swimming, etc, with no results. Working at the church puts more meaning into exercise, and the everyday challenges of general maintenance. I am married to my lovely wife, Lora, and we have three children (Tracey, Darryl and Jody) and five grandchildren.
